There are no redeeming factors when it comes to opioids, they are killers. Even if it doesn't take a person from this earth, it takes them away from their sanity. Drug addiction causes a person to lose themselves to the point that they are constantly putting poison in their body. Would you eat a pill called slow death? Most of us wouldn't but addiction has control over a person that they will make the most awful and dangerous decisions. This is why when a person has an issue with addiction, they need the help of a staff of qualified professionals. No one gets off of drugs alone and they do not get off of it without the help of others, but they have to want it.
It Is Hard
Life all worthwhile things, freedom from drug addiction is hard work. It is far from easy and most people need multiple attempts before they are clean for any significant amount of time. The family and loved ones of a person with an addiction must know this, they must know that the addicted person is in for a battle that they will most likely fail. What they must also realize is that this is how everyone erases their life from loves, they go through this process of trying, failing, trying, failing, trying and trying. Addiction is a lifetime battle and this is how you and the addicted person must see it.
As you can tell, drug addiction is serious business. It can take away your life, it can destroy relationship and it is hard to kick. Luckily, there are trained professionals who can help a person beat their drug addiction. All it takes is that you try and try until drug use is a part of your history and not your current life.
