The Signs Of Crystal Meth Abuse

From a  drug addict's point of view, crystal meth   is an easy to take, inexpensive to buy, long-lasting drug. It can be smoked, snorted or injected, and many times it's mixed with other drugs in combination such as heroin and marijuana. Because methamphetamine is usually homemade, there are many different recipes that are used to manufacture it, however, that also means that there are quite often impurities that can make a person sick or even lead to death. Some of the chemicals used in the process of making meth are extremely poisonous and can quickly make the house where it's made uninhabitable. Let's take a look at a few of the symptoms of crystal meth abuse now.

Meth is very often called speed because what it does is speed up your metabolism and heartbeat for long periods of time, it's also called "the poor man's cocaine" because it is so much less expensive and  can last up to eight hours with just one dose. Users are fairly easy to spot because they typically begin to lose their teeth, and also can become quite thin due to a lack of eating proper food. Speed is a strong appetite suppressant and the people who use it will often skip meals when they're on a longer binge, or extended speed trip. When they finally come down, they will be incredibly hungry and eat nearly anything put in front them.

Another sign of methamphetamine abuse is overly aggressive behavior, sometimes psychotic and delusional as well. Many users commit horrific crimes while high on speed but develop amnesia afterwards and can't remember a thing. Addicts who have abused speed for longer periods of time have been known to develop permanent brain damage that manifests itself as schizophrenia, hearing voices talking in their heads.

Methamphetamine is not a drug to be played with, or ever even tried, because the addiction is so detrimental to the body and mind. It is  very difficult to break this addiction without a full inpatient treatment program that separates the addict from his suppliers and friends. There are plenty of inpatient clinics in nearly any city in the US to choose from.

Ending Your Addiction To Amphetamines - Get Help Today

If you are having problems motivating yourself to function throughout the day, a drug that your doctor may prescribe is called an amphetamine. This is a drug that can stimulate your central nervous system, and is something that is often prescribed to those with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

There are many common amphetamines that are prescribed for this condition including Adderall, which has very positive effects. However, these drugs are also sold on the street for those looking for a rush, or a high, but they can have very addicting and detrimental effects.

What Amphetamines Do

Back in the 1930s, Benzedrine was the first amphetamine that was prescribed, provided in tablet form. They were used to not only help people improve their levels of motivation, but were also used to help people with weight control.

Today, they can help those that suffer from narcolepsy, and even some forms of depression. Unfortunately, they do have certain side effects which may include over aggressiveness, seizures, diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, and also hallucinations.

Treatment For Amphetamines

If you purchase speed or uppers on the street, then you are probably someone that has a problem with substance abuse. If you do not suffer from a lack of motivation, but you need to have these drugs to keep going, you may need to find a rehabilitation center. It is necessary to get help from individuals that are professionals, able to guide you away from abusing this drug.

You can find these companies on the web, or talk to your doctor about these companies, call them up, and set an appointment so that you can get the help that you need. Amphetamines should only be used if you actually have a medical problem that requires you to take them, and if you are addicted, use the suggestions to stop taking them before they cause irreversible damage to your body.
